Tools & Upgrades
You start with one toothbrush and spend your way out of it. Most tool prices still aren't published, but the v1.0.4 patch notes finally confirmed concrete suit upgrades with real prices — including the first known price in the game.
DragDrop Games publishes individual prices in patch notes rather than as a full tree. Anything listed here is quoted from official notes; anything missing simply hasn't been published and should not be assumed either way.
Starting Kit
You begin with a toothbrush and a budget that barely covered it. Early cleaning is slow by design — the joke is the grind, and the upgrade loop is what lifts you out of it.
Suit Upgrades (Confirmed Prices)
Your astronaut suit is its own upgrade track, separate from cleaning tools. v1.0.4 named prices and put an intermediary in front of purchases:
Added in v1.0.4; makes nights look like daytime without shadows
Cycles helmet lamp → goggles → off
Moved there in v1.0.4
Increased in v1.0.4; glass shows collected dust
The suit also has jetpack boosts and gravity boots. Both now display as HUD icons beside the dust gauge, alongside the lamp/goggles indicator, so you can see your current state without opening a menu.
$350 is a mid-tier amount, not a first-hour purchase. Expect to reach it after you have established a working clean-and-ship loop rather than during your first session.
The Upgrade Path
Spending flows into these confirmed directions:
- Better cleaning tools — improved tools that cover more surface per stroke, so each pass does more work.
- Carrying capacity — hold more dust per trip, so you return to the depot less often.
- Cleaning vehicles — arrive as your operation grows; stored and upgraded at garages. See Cleaning Vehicles & J.O.O.N.A.S..
- Automation — belts, splitters and mergers that let you stop hauling by hand. See Depots & Base.
In Co-op, Upgrades Are Shared
Since v1.0.3 the whole crew uses the host's upgrade matrix — any suit or tool upgrade bought by one member applies to everyone. Read Co-op & Crew before planning who spends what. The $350 above is therefore a crew-level cost, not a per-person one.
Why Capacity Comes First
Carrying capacity compounds. Every trip you take is shorter on dead time once you hold more, and that frees you to sweep more before returning. Early earnings are usually best spent here before chasing bigger tools or luxury suit upgrades.
