Post-launch & Known Issues
Moon Sweepers launched October 23, 2026 from a two-person studio and was patched twice in its first 48 hours. The response has been fast and substantive — here is what has landed and what has not.
This page tracks what the developers have publicly said. It is not an official roadmap: DragDrop Games publishes changes patch by patch rather than as a forward-looking plan.
The Patch Pace So Far
Steam, Windows PC
Shared crew upgrades, host tools, save protection
J.O.O.N.A.S. rework, Night Vision Goggles, save speed
As stated by the developers
On October 24 the team published a message thanking players and apologising for a rough launch state. In it they named J.O.O.N.A.S. units stopping when players walk away as one of their highest priorities, alongside crashes, production systems, automation reliability, progression balance and quality-of-life work — and confirmed they were aiming for another update within days. That update, v1.0.4, arrived the next day.
Full details of every change are on Patch Notes & Changelog.
Already Fixed
- J.O.O.N.A.S. stopping when unattended — the headline complaint; robots now clean whether or not a player is nearby, about twice as fast.
- Dust reappearing in co-op — ground state is synchronised for the whole crew.
- Slow saves on large bases — down from up to half a minute to a fraction of a second, with automatic backups.
- Worlds that would not load — corrupted-looking saves now load, and damaged ones self-repair from backup.
- AMD GPU crashes — DirectX 11 is now the default renderer.
- Steam Deck / Linux startup — older Proton versions no longer block launch.
Still Outstanding
The developers list these as continuing areas of work in their own posts. None of them should be read as "promised for a specific date":
- Crashes — reduced but still being worked on.
- Production systems — behaviour of machines and conveyors at scale.
- Automation reliability — much improved in v1.0.4, not declared finished.
- Progression balance — explicitly acknowledged as unresolved.
Community-reported, not official: reviewers have written that the available upgrade tree may be exhausted before a meaningful share of the lunar surface is cleaned. We have not seen DragDrop Games confirm this, so treat it as a player observation rather than a known defect. The official notes do acknowledge progression balance as unfinished work.
No Announced Versions
- Consoles (PS5 / Xbox / Switch) — nothing announced.
- Mac — nothing announced.
- Native Linux — nothing announced; the game runs on Steam Deck via Proton and v1.0.4 fixed older-Proton startup failures.
- Steam Deck — no official Valve compatibility rating published yet.
The game is Steam-exclusive on Windows PC. Any claim of a console port elsewhere is speculation unless it comes from DragDrop Games.
Is It Worth Playing Now?
Two days after launch most of the loudest complaints had been addressed by patch. The remaining public complaints cluster around balance and the repetitive late loop rather than blockers. Given how quickly fixes have shipped, the current build is materially different from what reviewers played in the first 48 hours.
Always update to the latest build before judging — and before joining friends, since mismatched versions block co-op entirely. Bugs belong in the official Discord, which is the channel the developers named for fast fixes.
