Controls & Settings

Moon Sweepers has full controller support. The full key map isn't published, but several bindings are now confirmed by the official patch notes — including the suit light cycle and the Moon map controls added in v1.0.4.

Controllers

The Steam page lists full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense controllers and the Steam Input API. A PlayStation or Xbox controller plugged into your PC works — which is the closest thing to a console experience right now.

  • Full controller support (Steam-listed)
  • DualShock / DualSense support
  • Steam Input API support
  • Plug a controller into your PC — no extra setup needed

The N Key — Helmet Lamp & Night Vision

This is the most useful confirmed binding. Pressing N cycles your suit through three states:

  1. Helmet lamp — your default light.
  2. Night Vision Goggles — added in v1.0.4 as a $350 suit upgrade. The developers describe nights as looking "like daytime without shadows."
  3. Off — no light source.

The goggles are also visible on your astronaut, so you can tell at a glance who is running them in co-op. New suit HUD icons sit beside the dust gauge indicating your current lamp/goggles state, plus jetpack boosts and gravity boots.

Helmet lamp upgrades moved to the supply wall in v1.0.4. If you remember buying them somewhere else from launch week, that is where they went.

Moon Map & Teleport Panel

The Moon map was reworked in v1.0.4 and is now a navigation tool rather than just an overview:

  • Right-click on the map to set waypoints, focus the camera, or teleport.
  • All robots appear on the map with their current activity, and each robot type can be toggled on or off.
  • A Teleport Panel lists the stations you have discovered and lets you jump between them.

Other Confirmed Interactions

  • ESC → Your Crew — where hosts manage players (kick, ban, unban) in co-op.
  • Look at J.O.O.N.A.S. — opens its information panel, including which sector it is cleaning and whether its bin is full (the gauge flashes red).
  • Elevation — the suit has jetpack boosts and gravity boots; both now have HUD indicators.

Settings Worth Checking

Useful options to look at on first launch:

  • Subtitles / language — English ships with full voice and subtitles; the other 18 supported languages are interface-only.
  • Controls — rebind or confirm your scheme (controller vs keyboard/mouse) before a long session.
  • Graphics — the game is light for a 2026 title; it now defaults to DirectX 11.
  • Accessibility — Steam lists accessibility features for the game; review what's offered.

Keyboard & Mouse

Keyboard and mouse are supported on PC. Beyond the bindings above, open Settings → Controls in-game to see and rebind your current layout. Anything you read about specific keys elsewhere should be confirmed against your own build.

Last updated: 2026-10-27. Written against build 1.0.4. The N-key and map controls below were introduced in that patch.
